Codependency
The word “codependency” is becoming more commonly used to describe a person who has an intense drive toward people-pleasing, often to their own detriment. Codependents feel guilty for other people’s feelings and accept responsibility for them. Codependents voluntarily put others first and give up their own needs and rights, which they deny or ignore. Some symptoms of codependency are:
- Control, Caretaking
- Very Reactive
- Denial of Feelings and Needs
- Shame, Guilt, Fear-Anxiety, Impaired Self-Esteem
